My last project was a deep dive into the British girls' comic Misty (published weekly by IPC/Fleetway between 1978 and 1980), which produced a critical book and numerous articles/talks (find out more about my book here).

Below is a searchable database that I have put together to accompany this. This database summarises the entire Misty archive, and includes artist and writer credits where known, content summaries, and other information about all the Misty stories. I hope it helps you locate that story you can't quite remember, find out more about ones you love, and that it is generally a useful resource for any fans or scholars interested in these lost publications.

You can buy my book all about Misty at any online bookseller (Eurospan Bookstore offers 20% discount with code MISTY20) or read some of my shorter work for free online, such as 'Misty, Spellbound and the Lost Gothic of British Girls' Comics', in Palgrave Communications journal, or 'Misty and the Horrible Hidden History of British Girls' Comics' at Confessions of an Aca-Fan.

My thanks to David Roach for his incredible knowledge of artists, to Chris Lillyman for the initial template and his excellent website www.mistycomic.co.uk, and to Mark Round for the tech.

This database is very much a work in progress and so all additional information and feedback is very welcome! I hope one day we can name all the artists and writers and give them the credit they deserve.
