ABOUT ME

 

Associate Professor in English and Comics Studies

​

I work in the Department of Humanities and Law at Bournemouth University, where I teach on various courses including BA English, MLitt English, and MA English and Literary Media. I am Programme Leader of the MA English and Literary Media course, Deputy Head of the Narrative Culture and Community Research Centre, and Co-Convenor of the AHRC-funded Digital Reading Network. I am one of the editors of Studies in Comics, one of the UK's leading academic journals in this field, and of the book series Encapsulations: Critical Comic Studies, and I co-organise the annual International Graphic Novel and Comics Conference (IGNCC). I have previously taught at the University of the Arts, London, and Bristol University.
